To Report Suspected Abuse, call 1-800-252-5400 OR 911
Texas Family Code (261.101) states that a person having cause to believe
that a child's physical or mental health or welfare has been or may be
adversely affected by the abuse or neglect must report immediately.
Failure to report is punishable by imprisonment for up to 180 days and/or a
fine up to $2,000.
A child who has been abused is forever changed.  Child victims of abuse need the careful attention of professionals trained to address their
special needs.  In the past, each victim seeking help faced multiple contacts with different community professionals, creating a maze of
confusion for the child and family.

With the support of our community, Norma's House enables children to come to one place for safety, protection, and justice instead of
going from agency to agency. Children who may have been sexually or physically abused are referred to NH by law enforcement and
CPS.  When children arrive, they are welcomed by caring staff, volunteers, and investigative professionals.  Norma's House provides an
environment which reflects the physical and emotional atmosphere of a home, rather than that of a clinic or institution.

Imagine your child or grandchild having to give his or her account of abuse to strangers over and over.  A specially trained forensic
interviewer talks with the child to determine the details about the abuse. The forensic interview lessens  the number of times the child has
to retell what has happened.

After the interview, the child and any non-offending family member are offered counseling with one of our 2 licensed professional
counselors.  There is no cost to the families for any of our services.
