PreK-1st Grade:
Paw Patrol Program

Students will learn about safety with the help of Marshall. He teaches kids about child abuse prevention and ways to stay safe every day. We talk about crossing the road safely, not talking to strangers, personal space and body safety. Children will learn the following three safety rules:

Say NO!

Get away when you can.

Always tell a trusted adult.

The program is designed to teach children the difference between a safe touch and an unsafe touch and what someone should do if something happens. The program follows Marshall through his day at school and gives examples of safe and unsafe touches. Each example will teach the students how to apply the three safety rules. The program will also address body safety by referring to the private parts on the body that are covered up by a swim suit and how nobody is ever to look at, touch, or ask you to touch. (The names of body parts are never used in the programs. We only refer to them as private parts that are covered by a swim suit.) This is a research-based curriculum program and is designed to decrease a child's risk of being abused.

2nd - 3rd Grade:
Bentley's Big Production

The goal of Play it Safe! is to help children recognize, react to, and report dangerous situations. The program will address topics such as internet safety, safe and unsafe touches, and body safety. Children will learn the three safety rules:

Say NO!

Get away when you can.

Always tell a trusted adult.

The safety rules are then applied to different situations that children may encounter on a daily basis such as interacting online, bullying, and personal space. The program will also address body safety by referring to the private parts on our body that are covered up by a swim suit and how nobody is supposed to ever look at, touch, or ask you to touch. (The names of body parts are never used in the program. We only refer to them as private parts that are covered by a swim suit.) The Safety Rules encourage assertive responses, whether it is used with strangers or someone the child knows. The students will end the curriculum with a video about Bentley, a boy in second grade who is making a video for a school project to learn about body safety. The video reinforces the topics and rules that are covered throughout the program. This is a research-based curriculum program and is designed to decrease a child's risk of being abused.
